Chhandik proudly celebrates its 30th year of Saraswati Puja, marking three decades of devotion, culture, and tradition. This grand occasion brings together students, teachers, and devotees to honor Goddess Saraswati with prayers, music, and dance. The event reflects Chhandik’s dedication to arts and education, fostering a rich cultural heritage.
On that day, the Chhandik sons and daughters performed a group Bharatanatyam dance.
On that special day, the talented students of Chhandik mesmerized the audience with a breathtaking group Bharatanatyam performance. Their graceful movements, synchronized expressions, and rhythmic footwork reflected dedication and rigorous training. The performance beautifully captured the essence of tradition, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present at the event.
On behalf of IICAT, Guru Sri Prasun Banerjee was honored with the Guru Acharya Award.
On January 31, 2025, at Kolkata Rammohan Hall, this award was presented to Guru Sri Prasun Banerjee through an international conference. IICAT International honored him with the Guru Acharya Award for his immense contributions as a guru in the world of dance and for his vast knowledge.

Khadi Mela 2024 – North 24 Parganas
Chhandik Dance Academy graced the Khadi Mela 2024, held in North 24 Parganas, with their mesmerizing performances. Known for their expertise in Indian classical and folk dance forms, the academy captivated the audience with vibrant choreography and soulful expressions. Their participation celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage, aligning perfectly with the Khadi Mela’s ethos of promoting traditional arts and crafts. The performances were met with enthusiastic applause, showcasing the academy’s dedication to preserving and showcasing the country’s artistic legacy. Chhandik Dance Academy’s presence added a layer of cultural richness, making the event truly memorable for all attendees.
Basant Utsav(MARCH)
Holi is one of the numerous festivals that are celebrated in India, and its sheer boisterousness coupled with an electrifying atmosphere, the clouds of vibrant colors, and the joyous arrival of spring, make this festival one of the most glorious ones in this country. Even though the festival of colors is known by the name Holi in most parts of India, West Bengal’s Santiniketan celebrates it as the Basanta Utsav or the Dol Utsav. Where we arranged to pay homage to “Rabindranath Tagore” in his memory by celebrating celebrate “Dol Yatra”. We are the ones who are arranging Basant Utsav in Barasat for the last 6 years.


Arundel Festival(FEBRUARY)
Chhandik Dance Academy has gradually spread its activities and culture from 1995 to 2022. This month is the birthday of Guru Rukmini Devi Arundel, therefore a festival of Chhandik Bharatanatyam dance is organized this month every year to pay homage to her. The event was attended by students of our institution as well as masterpieces and skilled artists from different parts of India.
Guru Purnima(JULY)
The day is celebrated with utmost fervor by Buddhists as it is believed that Gautam Buddha, after denouncing worldly attachments and being enlightened, served his first sermon at Sarnath on this day. Also, it is said that on this day, Lord Shiva became the Adi Guru – the first Guru and imparted knowledge to the Saptarishis. Guru Purnima is a program organized by the Guru Shishya Parampara where the relationship between the disciple and the Guru is made sweeter and sweeter through dance performances.


Sharod Utsav(SEPTEMBER)
It is an annual festival observed in the state of West Bengal and by Bengal diasporas all over the world that celebrates mainly the worship of the goddess Durga. West Bengal’s biggest festival is observed as the victory of good over evil and one that symbolizes women’s power. In the month of divine reverence, we give the message to society that Women’s power is above all by organizing cultural programs where our students participate.
76th Republic Day celebration.
Barasat Chandik Dance Academy proudly participated in the 76th Republic Day celebrations at Barasat Kachari Maidan. The event was organized by the North 24 Parganas District Information & Cultural Department, along with the District Magistrate, under the Government of West Bengal. The academy showcased a vibrant performance, reflecting the spirit of the nation. This grand celebration brought together various cultural groups, highlighting the rich heritage of India and fostering unity and patriotism among the audience.
